A friend recommended Epoch Coffee on North Loop, so yesterday morning I made it the destination for my walk from East Austin—and I’m so glad I did! Nestled near the border of Hyde Park, Epoch Coffee is an eclectic, cozy and wonderfully unpretentious Austin coffee shop. From the moment I walked in, it felt like a place that genuinely welcomes all walks of life. The LGBTQ+ friendly, inclusive atmosphere, mismatched furnishings and almost thrift-store-inspired charm give it a personality all its own. Nothing feels overly polished or staged—it feels comfortable, lived-in and very Austin. And there is SO much seating! Inside, two different rooms connected by an archway are filled with tables and chairs, making this an excellent coffee shop for studying, working remotely, meeting friends or settling in with your laptop for a few hours. There is also a large covered outdoor porch plus another outdoor seating area near the entrance. Whether you’re coming alone or meeting a group, there are plenty of options. First impression they have friendly and welcoming baristas. Great menu with variety. I got a lemonade with peach syrup and hibiscus tea (so delicious!). My partner did a drip coffee which was also good. The atmosphere is homey with mix matched furniture and funky decor.

May 31st. 8:44 PM. First time here. Atmosphere is great as shown in the ratings. Cool vibes. However just a few minutes into being there, had to leave because a rude employee did not like me taking a picture of the menu and kept hounding me on it. Super weird. It’s a cool place but this employee was no bueno.

Very nice café cool vibes. They have very good coffee and have not tried their pastries. Lots of seating area indoor and outdoor you can study there mostly quiet except sometimes the stuff I don’t know why they intentionally start screaming and laughing super super loud to annoy people this was yesterday everybody start looking at the serving area because they were super loud and nobody was sure why they did that I felt it is very rude and disrespectful because they did it more than one time. Charging stations mostly not working it’s very loose and won’t changes if u don’t hold it in ur hand other than that it’s a cool place.

This really has that hipster coffee shop vibe. The atmosphere is nice, the people cool, and the coffee was delicious. My wife got a cappuccino and I got the latte. Price was fair and they called my name right away. I like that they seemed to have a lot of places to sit even though they seemed pretty busy. The little touches inside are cool such as the Crown moulding wooden menu and all the decorations. Epoch coffee also has an outdoor sitting area if you wanna sweat while chugging your Java. It’s really a cool coffee shop, even if it feels out of place in that neighborhood.
